I don't have computer access at home right now, so I haven't been able to post as soon as I would like. I had a wonderful time taking 2 classes with Jacqueline Sullivan. It was a lot of fun and I learned some new techniques. The green collage is pretty good size, but I was determined to alter these paper-mache half-hearts. I used family photos on that piece. Hope you like them!
these are really cool, Karen...I like the 3-D result with the heart and of course anytime one uses family photos...it makes it a real family memory. Nice job...glad you had a great time in class and that you now have computer access once again.
ReplyDeleteLove both these pieces! They are so ethereal looking!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces, Karen. The backgrounds are beautiful and rich looking.

Nice collages Karen!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Work Karen. I loved her classes. Was her husband there to help out?
ReplyDeleteI know you've wanted to take classes with JS for a long time. I'm glad to see you were finally able to do so. I really like the effect you got on the green heart.

you took away some wonderful pieces!
ReplyDeletethey are both beautifully blended colors
with great texture feeling to the look!
Like them? I LOVE them!!! These are beautiful, especially the heart one. Wowza Karen! I keep looking at the enlarged photo of this heart piece, and it takes my breath away.
ReplyDeleteI love the muted colors, the images, the tiles, the texture, the lace, the composition, and the depth. Also the use of the dimensional heart. I do believe this is one of your very best, most impressive art works. Kudos to you. I wish I could've watched you create this amazing piece.
Now I'm doubly bummed that I couldn't take any of JS workshops. I really should order that CD of hers, and maybe I can take a workshop of hers sometime in the future.
Beautiful, rich work - love your creativity!
ReplyDeleteKaren these are awesome!

Karen- this work you've done lately is all stunning- the textured paper- the chunky pages, the metal books! I can't decide which I like best!
